- כַּבְלָאch. sam(כבל ankle-chains). Sabb.57b כ׳ דעבדא a slaves neck-chain, v. כָּבוּל II. Ib. 58a כ׳ דעבדא תנן the Kabul of the Mishnah means Ib. 54a (v. כָּבוּל I) it was named Cabul דמשתרגא בה כרעא עד כ׳ ed. (Ar. דמשתקעא) because the foot is entangled in (sinks into) the sandy soil up to the ankle-band; (oth. vers. in Ar. דמשתקעא כרעא בגווה כי כ׳ (read דמשתרגא) because the foot is entangled in it as if in a foot-chain.Pl. כְּבָלִין, כַּבְלֵי.
